International Coffee Hour 03/04/2020

For coffee hour at FIU MMC, I learned about American History, it is always pleasant to refresh our memory when it comes to the Home Land History.


During this event we learned about different singers that have make history by creating lyrics that relate to different periods of time in the United States history. The host interpreted those same songs and gave an extensive explanation on the most important events that have happened in our nation.


Please see below important facts that it stood up for me during the coffee hour :


- From the year 1800-1930 over 27 million people immigrated to the U.S in the hope of "The American Dream"

- From the year 2000 to present it has been stipulated that over 1 million people immigrate yearly to the united stated due to the socio-economic circumstances that are happening at their homelands.

-The united States from the year 1947 to 1977 had an increase in their economy due to the production of steel.

-During the great depression 1929-1932 also known as the Black Sunday it was calculated that 50% of the nation GDP decreased and unemployment had a downfall of 30%
